Thermal Imaging
What is Thermal Imaging?
Thermal imaging is a means of detecting and measuring
infrared energy or temperature.
How do thermal imagers work?
Similar to digital cameras, thermal imagers capture pictures.
Instead of visible light, thermal imagers measure infrared energy.
These measurements are used to create an image of colors
which
correspond to various temperatures.
Using thermal imagers
We use thermal imaging to find and document hidden problems
in composite laminates and sub components which
become questionable during routine inspections.
Thermal imaging uses
The use of thermal imaging equipment is not routine and we
do
not use it unless a special request from the client is received.
It is used predominately for detecting problems on
very high end vessels and damage claims.
